This was Mark and Deborah Chandler's first boat. In the 90s they moved up to a PCC and owned Kachina for 13 years.
After selling Kachina they wanted to buy a small, simple- probably plastic- boat with the Fletcher family to teach the kids to sail.
But when we ran across Brownie again we hesitated, not wanting to drag the Fletchers into the whole wooden boat thing.

Neil's father owned a wooden boat on the Themes through his childhood, and one sniff below on Brownie, convinced him that Brownie smelled
like a boat.
